Scafell Pike

Scafell Pike was our introduction to the 6 peaks challenge and it really set the bar for the rest of the week. A challenging climb, especially near the top with lots of rocks making it tough to find good footing. The weather held out mostly fine, although some rain at the summit encouraged us to get a move on and shift back down the mountain. A quick stop for a pub lunch and we were on our way to Fort William. We were caught out by road closures about 2 miles out of town and missed the check-in time for our hotel. The trusty travel lodge sorted us out though and 400 quid later, we had a bed for the night. All in all a cracking first day.Read more
