Drift Creek County Park

🇩🇪 Nach dem teuren Sonnenaufgang ist unsere Laune etwas gedrückt. Wir wollen Geld sparen, Tickets sind nicht im Budget einkalkuliert 😅

Also heißt es heute noch einmal Camping. Aber diesmal nicht für 65$!
Wir finden einen Platz etwas mehr im Innland für 30$ in der Nähe soll eine toller Wanderweg sein, der auf einem Berg endet mit Blick aufs Meer. Wir starten mit etwas gedrückter Laune und schwören uns nie mehr kein Park Ticket zu ziehen.

Die Fahrt ist unspektakulär und viel durchs Innland, die Farben des Herbstes in Oregon werden nicht langweilig anzuschauen.
Am Campingplatz angekommen, finden wir niemanden vor. Es stehen nur einige Campingmobile dort und ein riesiges Feld mit Bäumen ist für Zelte vorgesehen, wir sind wieder einmal die einzigen hier. Einchecken geht nicht, es ist keiner da, also vertrauen wir darauf dass die Reservierung korrekt gelaufen ist. Schnell bauen wir das Zelt auf und brechen direkt wieder auf zum Sonnenuntergang und der geplanten Wanderung.

Angekommen am Parkplatz zieht dichter Seenebel ins Land und man sieht die Hand vor Augen nicht mehr. Wir müssen die Wanderung abblasen, das hätte keinen Sinn, also Suchen wir noch ein nettes Stück Küste und fahren zurück zum Campingplatz, wir haben Hunger und sind müde!

Morgen geht es zu den schönsten Orten Oregons, wird sind schon ganz gespannt!

🇬🇧 After the costly sunrise, our mood is somewhat dampened. We want to save money, and tickets weren't budgeted for 😅.

So, it's another day of camping. But this time, not for $65! We find a spot a bit further inland for $30, and nearby, there's supposed to be a fantastic hiking trail that ends on a mountain with a view of the sea. We start with somewhat subdued spirits and vow to never skip buying a park ticket again.

The drive is uneventful and takes us more inland. The autumn colors in Oregon never get boring to look at.
Arriving at the campsite, we find no one there. Only a few RVs are parked, and a vast field with trees is designated for tents. Once again, we are the only ones here. Checking in is not possible as no one is present, so we trust that the reservation went smoothly. We quickly set up the tent and head out immediately for the sunset and the planned hike.

When we reach the parking lot, dense sea fog rolls in, and you can't see your hand in front of your face. We have to cancel the hike; it wouldn't make sense. So, we look for a nice stretch of coastline and head back to the campsite; we're hungry and tired!

Tomorrow, we're heading to Oregon's most beautiful places. We're really looking forward to it!Read more
