At the the soda fountain

We arrived in Lake City, Colorado without actually having a place to stay. With no cell coverage nor access to wifi, finding a place to stay would mean knocking on doors.

That said, when I saw a line of people waiting to get into Soda Co., a soda fountain situated on the little town square, I knew this was the place to be.

Haukur got a tip from a local and went out to find the motel owner while I stayed back at the the soda fountain. At 8,848 ft (2697 m), the summer tourist season is just beginning in the mountain village and I'm enjoying the lively vibe of regular summer visitor's greeting homie friends, while teenagers organize their summer work schedules and play dates.Read more
