    Road to Mt. St. Helen's

August 16, 2017 in the United States

The 52 miles from Castle Rock to the Johnson Observatory were filled with views of Mt.St.Helen's and the valley the eruption impacted. We passed by forests of Douglas Fur and other trees that were replanted after the blast. We had a perfect blue sky day to see the mountain approach.

  • Day3

    Mt. St. Helens

August 23, 2016 in the United States

    I am fully alive.

In spite of Aaron thouroughly cleaning his passport in the laundry the night before, the border patrol somehow let us in and we made it 405kms today.

My butt hurts, but it doesnt compare to my face hurting from smiling so much.

Up early tomorrow to drive up the volcano and then to Astoria and end up in Portland.

The americans know we arent from here...i Dont know whats giving it away...maybe our kind eyes and a lack of nukes? Perhaps its our affinity for manners and the Tragically Hip?

On another note, i saw a sign saying "Blind person crossing". I freaked and slammed on my breaks...but didnt see them. Was i blind as well? Or...do they have two superpowers and are also invisible?

    To be continued...

    St Helen's walk

November 15, 2015 in the United States

I got to my hosts, Bary and Sandy, house and I also meet their other guests, Ben and Mary. We all sat around and talked for a while before the and I decided to go out for a walk with their dog, Trip. It was beautiful and almost immediately started to rain. Nice walk.

    Apples to apples

November 15, 2015 in the United States

We all played a few games. I won apples to apples and it was kinda refreshing to not play cards against humanity. We also played a few rounds of bananagrams, which I won most rounds. I loved the night, especially winning. Even better with the double chocolate cookies and chocolate mint tea.
