Soundcheck

Wenn ich es recht überlege, habe ich noch nie ausführlich bei einem Soundcheck zugehört. Es wirkt erst ein bisschen chaotisch, aber nach und nach verstehe ich, dass jedes Instrument und jede Stimme ausprobiert und zur Zufriedenheit der KünstlerInnen geregelt wird. Ich wusste nicht, dass ein Mikrofon, so wie hier heute, der Stimme eines Mannes freundlicher gesonnen sein könnte als der Stimme einer Frau. Das lässt sich aber nun so schnell nicht ändern.
Ich bin schon hingerissen, wenn ich Songfetzen erkenne.
Auf dem Tablet verfolgt der Soundtechniker alle Ausschläge und regelt nach. Für mich ist es eine tolle Gelegenheit, die Musiker schon mal etwas aus der Nähe zu studieren. Später bin ich weit weg und das Licht ist schwach.

When I think about it, I've never really listened closely during a soundcheck. It seems a bit chaotic at first, but gradually I understand that each instrument and every voice is being tested and adjusted to the satisfaction of the artists. I didn't know that a microphone, like the one here today, could be more favorable to a man's voice than to a woman's voice. However, that can't be changed quickly now. And I’m thrilled to recognise parts of the songs.

The sound technician monitors all the levels on the tablet and makes adjustments. For me, it's a great opportunity to observe the musicians up close. Later, I'll be far away, and the lighting will be dim.Читать далее
