    Lake Vyrnwy

    Walked up in to the hills along a circular track, some logging going on and lots of pheasants as well as a view of the reservoir dam. Parked up at car park at top end of reservoir then in the morning we did a route visiting Rhigwargor falls and round to the Centenary Hide. We spotted some Kestrals on the hillside and Cole Tits in the trees on the walk.Read more

    Have a particular love of this area. My family come from between Glynceriog and Llanharmon Dyffryn Ceiriog . Did you see the memorial for the men killed in the construction of the reservoir? Shocking.

    Mawddach Valley - Arthog bog

    Parked at a Snowdonia National Park car park near a train station and did a circular walk along the Fairbourne / Barmouth Estuary and back through a small woodland. Saw loads of Swallows and Martins on a telelphone wire as well as lots of Meadow Pippets, a Spotted Flycatcher and Redstarts.Read more

    Mawddach Valley

    Stopped at a layby near the small toll bridge and wandered along the Mawddach Trail. Spent a little time watching birds on the estuary mud flats from beside the closed RSPB observatory - saw a few Common Sandpipers but not much going on.Read more

    Pant yr Onen campsite - Bala!

    Great to be back! Spent a day chilling, then sailed the next day but unfortunately broke the fairleader / gib cleat off the boat. Spent the next day canoeing round the whole lake, having a picnic lunch on a fallen tree and buying a bakewell tart from the bakery in Bala for desert!Read more

    Beautiful overnight spot with some great looking walks. We hiked to an Iron Age fort on a hill then got lost on the way back and ended up climbing to the summit of the mountain without a path! Views of the sea in many directions over the hills.Read more

    On the Llyn Peninsula, returning from heather covered hills to the sun shining on the sea as it wraps around coves and headlands.
