While it isn't German food, Dönners are very popular in Berlin due to the large Turkish population. It is typically made with lamb (although sometimes beef) that is on a vertical spit that rotates in front of a vertical cooking element. It gets shaved off and put into a pocket (similar to a Pita). You typically put white sauce, cabbage, lettuce, and tomatoes (although they sometimes have other things too). They usually have fries that you can get with it.
