Christchurch, then Melbourne

On our final morning in Christchurch we had the morning free to explore the city and see at close hand some of the damage done in the earthquake of 2011. Although many buildings have already been demolished, others are still standing, but are inhabitable, having been deemed to be structurally compromised. It was quite sad seeing the destruction, especially to the famous cathedral in the centre of the city.

After lunch we were transported back to the airport for our late afternoon flight back to Melbourne.Read more
