Colonia Del Sacramento

It is possible to catch a high speed ferry across the Rio de la Plata to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay. This quaint town is actually one of the oldest settlements in South America. It provides a very welcome contrast to the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires.

We spent the day wandering its quiet tree lined streets and enjoying the tranquil surroundings. This is a place that I would love to spend more time in (and I did return here in 2018 to have a better look at the place).Read more
