Karamea

Karamea is a town on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It is the northernmost settlement of any real size on the West Coast and is located 96 km northeast by road from Westport. 
The 1½ hour drive from Westport to Karamea is one of the finest in the South Island, and features stunning coastal scenery, a peppering of friendly small towns, and at the heart of it all, the impressive Karamea Bluff. The road twists and turns over the Bluff and offers spectacular views of the distant coast.
