• Box Canyon Cave

Box Canyon was shaped by the movement of water and debris during the last glacial period, when melting ice caused powerful flows through the chamber. At that time, the cave was submerged, with water reaching all the way to the ceiling.
Over time, as the water flow shifted, the cave dried out, leaving it as the dusty, fascinating space it is today. Upon entering, you'll quickly understand how it got its name.
