    October 23 in Japan ☁️ 18 °C

Arigatō gozaimasu is Japanese for thankyou very much. Shop owners when one leaves a store break into a chorus of arigato gozaimasu when one leaves a shop. I am just sitting in the airport waiting for my Westjet flight to Calgary. I slept in a little this morning and took things a little more slowly. After 5 weeks of going hard, I just wanted to take it a little easier today. The Ebisu Garden Palace a large office building is located close to where I am staying and I wandered over and checked out the Tokyo Photographic Museum which didn't amount to much. I took the express elevator to the 38th floor for one last panoramic view of Tokyo. I wandered back to my hotel finding a French Chateau of all things before I collected my stuff and headed off to the airport. Goggle maps weren't cooperating as they wanted to take me on the more expense and slightly faster sky train and I was happy just taking an express train. I navigated myself back to Oshiage station where I had started the trip and where I knew I could catch the express train to the airport.

I wanted to just reiterate what a great time that I had in Japan. There were lots of things to do, the Japanese people were friendly helpful and very patient. I felt very safe. The cities were wonderfully clean. It was a great holiday and I want to come back.I will miss the musical Japanese language, the musical garbage trucks, the wonderful uniforms that workers and children wear, the Scottish lilt played at the crosswalks. Walking the Kumano kodo was very unique. It was all great. Always a good sign at the end of a holiday if you want to go back. I can't believe that I hadn't previously visited Japan. Anyhow I will finish this blog with a very large thank you or Arigatō gozaimasu to Japan and its people.
