    We had an 11 am reservation on the ferry from Coupeville to Port Townsend, a short 30 minute ride. This route was recommended to us by another timeshare owner from the area in order to avoid the horrible traffic congestion around Seattle. I appreciated the suggestion as we thoroughly enjoyed the ferry experience with scenic views and an entertaining female choir that performed sea-themed songs, such as The Bonnie Banks o’ Loch Lomond. We followed the winding two-lane 101 with mostly waterfront views. Our picnic stop was at Potlatch State Park along the Hood Canal. It was an interesting lunch break because it is a popular spot for clam digging and oyster harvesting. We spoke to some of the locals that were working hard to find their next meal.Read more
