Crossing the Border

Met up with the rest of the group today and boarded our bus. Went down a road full of hair pin bends along the Jordan Valley. Went past a marker stating it was sea level and kept going down and down.Baca selengkapnya
Sea of Galilee

Had a ride in an old fishing boat on Sea of Galilee and had a Breaking of Bread meeting onboard. Saw the hills where Jesus walked and taught. Museum held an restored boat from Jesus time.
Capernaum

Visited the site of the original synogogue of Capernaum. Surprised with the amount of building still there. Jesus visited and taught here.
Mt of Beatitudes

Visited the Church of the Beatitudes along the shore of Galilee. Beautiful place.
Golan Heights

Travelled up to the Golan Heights. Saw Mt Hermon with snow and the Syrian border. Visited El Rom kibbutz. This is the Northern most kibbutz in Israel and was completely destroyed in the 1973 YomBaca selengkapnya
Magdala

Magdala is a township on the Sea of Galilee where assumably Mary Magdalene lived. Visited an archaeological site where the township and synagogue is being excavated. It was discovered when aBaca selengkapnya
Bania (Caesarea Phillipi)

Visited the ruins of a temple of Pan. Lovely place with lots of running water. Drove through the area where the early Zionists drained the swamps to make farmland. Tremendous food growing area forBaca selengkapnya
Tel Dan - Lebanese Border

Went to Tel Dan and enjoyed a walk along the gushing waters that come from the springs here. The ruins of the "temple" in Dan were amazing. Walked along and saw the land of Lebanon in the distance.Baca selengkapnya

Arrived in Haifa in late afternoon. Walked around the restaurant centre and had dinner and a look at the magnificent Bahá'í Temple by night .

Zippori

Nazareth - Mt Precipice

Visited Nazareth - the place where Jesus was brought up. Mt Precipice has a 360 degree view of surrounds. It is the place where the people tried to throw Jesus off the cliff
Mt Gilboa

Mt Gilboa is the place where Saul's army was destroyed. Saul and his sons where killed in battle and the Kingdom passed on to David. The area abounds in wildflowers.
Mt Carmel

Mt Carmel is a ridge area, not just one Mt. Elijah met with the prophets of Baal here and the contest was on to prove who was the true God.

Caesarea by the Mediterranean Sea is a lovely place. The harbour was extended by Herod and many public places added like a theatre and hippodrome. It was destroyed by earthquakes over time.
