    Monday night, dull right?
It's Karaoke night at VoyVoy! The place with no more than 3 customers any other day of the week is suddenly packed.

A few brave (drunk?) souls and also some talents; hard to tell, sound is horrible anyway.

Bottom line, it is not because it's Monday that.... not sure what I wanted to say.... cheers!Read more

    25 knots and more

    May 20, 2018 in Dominican Republic ⋅ 🌬 27 °C

The first few kiting days were crazy. While we expected 15-20 knots at most, we got 5 days of 25-30 knots from 1 to 6 pm. I think we got quite lucky!

It is the first time I was fully depowered on my 10 meters kite and still could easily jump above 5 meters.
The local champion (part of the Olympics team) was showing off with 12-15 meter jumps - it was very impressive to see it live.

With a wind that strong (and gusty), I could not spend more than 2 hours per day in the water. And for the very first time my abs were sore after the second day.

    Paradise indeed

    May 16, 2018 in Dominican Republic ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Sometimes things feel right from the beginning. This is one of those times. Great appartment, nice resort, beautiful view, sandy beach (oh really?), fresh fruits and coffee for breakfast - this is how life should be!

10 minutes walk separate us from breakfast, exactly the right amount to wake up and get really hungry.Read more

    Airtanker - more like airwanker

    May 15, 2018 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

The first 2018 kite trip starts off in a best possible way (not!) as upon entering the aircraft we realize it's basically a troop transporter. Chairs hard like wood, no entertainment system, not even a charging port. Also they run out of beer after the first "meal".

But it was cheap right you will tell me.
Nope. 1100 CHF for a simple transatlantic trip is NOT cheap. To keep things in perspective, the tickets to New York were 500 CHF. Disastrous. Thank you very much Eurowings.

And yum yum the "meatballs" and "sandwich".
