• 154th Open at Royal Birkdale

    July 16 in England ⋅ ☁️ 73 °F

Up at 6.30 for showers and then off to the Liverpool Central train station a 15 minute drive away. After parking, we got a family ticket for the 9.30 train to the Royal Birkdale. The train before ours was cancelled so it was standing room only for the 45 minute journey. Unfortunately, more spectators got on at almost every stop so it was a relief when we finally arrived. The course was a short walk away. After security, we immediately hit up the souvenir shop where we got 4 hats and a golf towel for Dad. It was a super sunny, dry and warm day. The course ended up being rather dusty but we walked about half of it and got to see the main stars, including Rory in the afternoon. Lunch and drinks before everyone got a try at the golf screen (after a very long wait). It was a fun day. We took a (rather empty) train home and made pasta in. Showers before watching the end of Hail Mary.Read more
