Glyndŵr’s Way 2019

Woke up to snow and it was still falling. At breakfast i asked about a bus but was told the last one came through the village in around 1962. No choice but to walk. The snow got heavier and heavier and i headed up into the hills. I ended up postholing across the hills in knee deep drifts in near whiteout conditions. Probably wearing my trail runners and waterproof socks for this trail was not a good move 😂 and as i struggled to navigate it crossed my mind whether i’d actually bitten off more than i could chew. I eventually made it to a village where I consulted my map and worked out a route using the road - being up in the hills is not a good idea today! I made it to Llanidloes by early afternoon and went straight to the pub for a stiff drink!Read more
