    Arriving Christchurch

    September 22, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 10 °C

I helped my friend mohamad for a bit the last 2 days when I was there and made the decision to repair my car when I get back to Australia and then sell it.

So I got again a free taxi to the airport. When I went to check in for my flight they told me that I needed a flight from new Zealand. So I went to a flight centre. It was so expensive. So I tried to book my flight online. Unfortunately I didn't knew my creditcard code so I ended up blocking it.! Shit. And then I had like 5 minutes left to book a flight before the check in closed. So I booked a flight there. Ofcourse way to expensive and wrong date and without luggage.. But I got in. And then after 1 hour waiting at the gate my flight was cancelled... We got a free hotel, free food, tree transfer, free beer, free breakfast, free WiFi, and a new flight the next day. So it wasn't to bad.

I rocket up next day and again check in, customs and shit. And ofcourse our flight was delayed by 2 hours. In the end we left around 21:30.

I arrived 3 am at the hostel in Christchurch in new Zealand. I booked the hostel there until Monday morning. I got Grocerys, did laundry, and sort out a lot of stuff and see where I wanted to go on my next travels so I don't have to make last time decided where you lose a lot of money.

I found someone where I'm gonna travel with for the 3 weeks I'm in new Zealand. So has a car so that's good! The weather is not that great here. About. 15 degrees, cloudy and rain. So really shitty weather compared to Australia.

    First day of traveling

    September 27, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌙 9 °C

On Monday I left with Lisa towards Ashburton. Where we should meet Jildert so we could travel together!. Lisa is from Utrecht and Jildert from a small town near Leeuwarden. So first time only with Dutch people!.

We had to organize the car and get Grocerys. Especially wine! We didn't do to much, we lost so much time on organizing. We drove past the rakaia river. That was an great view. And today was also the first day we saw mountains!

On the campsite there was a shitload of wind so cooking took quite a long time. But the spot was beautiful!

    Lake takepo

    September 27, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌙 9 °C

This morning we woke up at a beautiful campsite.
From there we went off to Lake tekapo. On our way we had to get fuel and wine. So fuel for everyone! Haha. The drives ate quite short here. To get somewhere it's 50 km or something so that's pretty good!

At Lake tekapo we stopped at some famous tourist mini church. Ofcourse there were a lot of wild Asians walking everywhere. Afterwards we did lunch in front of the lake itself. There were also some ducks trying to get some food from us.

After lunch we did a decent hike and some off track hiking. We started to trow a rock in the air and take a picture of the rock with the background. So in the end I wanna make a gif from those pictures or something like that, that rocks!

In the end we parked our cars at the beautiful campsite at Lake pukaki. Made a nice fire, cooked some food and enjoyed the stunning view!

    Mount cook

    September 28, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌙 9 °C

We drove from Lake pukaki up to mount cook. Parked there on the campsite. Then did the walk to the bottem of the glacier of Mount cook. The view was really good all the way. You can look around all the time in new Zealand there are only a few trees where in Australia there are only trees and barely have a view from the surroundings. It's so different.

At the bottem of the glacier was a lake with ice cold water and also ice in the water. It was such a nice spot and in the sun out of the wind you could sit there with only a t-shirt. Also on the way we had to cross some cool swing bridges!

In the evening we had to cook inside the hut on the camping. It was so freezing outside. Probably almost 0 degrees. After a bit of wine it wasn't that cold anymore :-P.

    Wanaka

    September 29, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌙 9 °C

In the morning it was still freezing. But we had to get up. We drove down again from Mount cook all the way to Wanaka. On the way we went to the clay cliffs. That was awesome to see! We could climb up but it was really steep. But the view was pretty cool at the highest point I could go.

When Lisa had to go down it was so funny. It took about an half hour for her to get down and we where laughing. Haha.

Later we went to a hostel in Wanaka and made some awesome handmade burgers! Definitely a thing to do again! We had a nice shower after 4 days.

The next day we had a relaxing day where we stayed the whole day In the hostel and chilled there for a day.

    Isthmus peak

    September 30, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

We went for a hike at the isthmus peak. It was a decent hike but the weather was really good! On the way we saw a lot of other people who did the hike. It was 8km one way and we had to climb more than 1000m high!. Took us around 6,5 hours to do the whole hike. And also take crazy pictures and have fun on the way!

In the end we went back to the campsite next to the lake. We made a fire, made some wraps, drink some wine, listen music and tell stories!

A really active day in the end.

    Lake hawea

    October 1, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

This night and morning was really cold. But after we got out and the sun started to shine it was quite nice!. We camped next to the lake. Where we tried to do stone skipping and then went for a short swim in the ice cold Lake. It was refreshing. We were completely alone at the huge Lake. The stone skipping went very well. There were a lot of flat Stones around the lake and I couldn't count the amount of bounces, so many! We made lunch afterwards with a campfire and later on we went to Wanaka to eat ice-cream and eat pizza! Also sit on the lake wanaka and look at people.

At the end a super relaxing day!

    Diamond lake

    October 2, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

Every morning it's so hard to leave before 11 am. All the time late out of bed, long breakfast and having fun! So everyday we only got a half day to do stuff. But it is chilled!

Today we went to diamond Lake and went up the mountain there! It was a nice hike and the view was all the way good just as I'm used to in new Zealand.

There were a lot of traps for possums, rats and stouts. Because in new Zealand they wanna get rid of all those animals. They eat all the bird eggs and some bird species are threatened by extinction.

In the evening cooked dinner and had a bit of wine in the crane!. That's the car of Jildert.

  • Day 12

    Rob roys glacier

    October 3, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

This morning exactly thesame as yesterday.

In the afternoon we went to rob roys glacier and did a good hike there. The view was again stunning!. On the way to the hike we saw a stupid Chinese woman running after the sheep with lambs. It was so stupid to see. And also shit because the sheep where afraid of her. So Lisa shouted to her to stop.

On the hike we had spectacular views of a big cliff with some waterfalls. Also a gletcher and once in a while a lot of snow came down, it was really loud and looked like Thunder. It was impressive to see!

On the way back we drove on a gravel road and had to drive trough pools. Next to the road in the paddocks there were cows with kalfs, sheep and also deers! Really cool landscape!

In the evening we went back to wanaka to get Grocerys and get some food. Unfortunately we ended up at the domino's. We orderd 6 pizza's, garlic bread and a bottle of coke for only 3 of us. We were REALLY hungry. Haha cheap meal for 35 dollars for 3 people! Even little Lisa ate two pizza's, good girl.

In the end we ended up again at Lake hawea the nice quite campspot!.

Until now I like new Zealand a lot! It can be cold and warm at the same time, that's a bit annoying. Because while walking it's to chilly for only a t-shirt and to warm for a jumper. But if that's the only thing that's annoying then I got a good life! :-D

    Alexandra pool

    October 5, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

Totdat was a chill day. We left Wanaka and on or way to Dunedin we went to a pool in alexandra. That was so good! Also afterwards in the yakuzi and that was only 6 dollars!

The day after we had also a chill day I think!? To long a go and to much happened in between.

But we ended up at Dunedin, that's the student city of new Zealand. We stayed at a hostel, went to the steepest Residential street in the world. Went out for the first time in 2 weeks. And as always loads of Asians!

The area around Dunedin is also really nice! More like Hills and swamps and not a lot of trees. But there are loads of sheep!
