First look at Passau

Our first look at Passau is on a walking tour with about 25 others. The attraction is only that we are guided by a Bavarian woman who has a sense of humour.
St. Stephens Cathedral

St Steven’s is a Baroque style Cathedral, currently being renovated. This is noteworthy because most Cathedrals in the neighborhood are Gothic.
Walk -a-bout Passau

I started suggesting to Dianne after the Baroque church that we should ditch our friends and have some fun of our own. I thought it would be an easy sell but she wanted to listen to more about Passau.Okumaya devam et

Charming Bamberg

Bamberg is the burial place of Clement ll. One of a very few Popes buried outside of Rome. This city was left untouched during the war due to what the citizens of Bamberg believe is their good karma.
Rauchbier!

Known for Rauchbier, or smoke beer, you can get an early beer if you like. We came by before 10am and they had been open for a while. The beer is flavoured with a bacon taste you either like or hate.

I thought that this would house a great number of bishops. I was wrong. Only one lived here. The residenz (palace) was built between 1720 and 1744. It took another 36 years to finish the interior.Okumaya devam et
