Madrid to Salamanca

First day with our second Backroads trip. Met up and drove to Salamanca, Spain. Afternoon ride was 48 KM (we chose the longer route) through beautiful rural landscapes. Saw quite a few storks in their huge nests. Cool and windy but the sun was shining. Ended at our hotel which is apparently where Christopher Columbus stayed while he was planning to go to find a route to the Indes which we know now was America.
