Vikos Gorge

Located at the heart of Vikos-Aoos National Park, the Vikos Gorge is a true natural wonder and one of the most significant attractions of Zagorochoria. With a depth of over 900 meters and a width ranging from 100 to 1,100 meters, it has earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the deepest canyon in proportion to its width.
With a length of over 10 kilometers, the gorge is intersected by a thundering torrent that ultimately feeds into the crystal-clear springs of the Voidomatis river.

Unfortunately we didn't have the time and capacity to hike the entire cliff trail but even by doing half of it (and almost 500 meters in altitude) we were amazed by the beauty of the landscape.Read more
