Day 34 and 35

Day 34
Welcome to the long travel days! This morning we got the bus at 8am to head back to Sao Luis. Then we had a5 hour wait at the bus terminal before our 16 hour overnight bus to Belem. We thought about heading out into the city but the bus terminal is quite far away and with our big bags we decided it wasn’t really worth it. So we ate our pack lunches and settled in for a long wait.

Eventually we got onto the bus and set off towards Belem. It’s another double decker bus which we are at the front of again with a big window which is nice.

Day 35
Finally arrived in Belem at about 11am. We actually have an air BnB booked here and they gave us an early check in which was really nice so we could just arrive and crash. We both had showers, and called our families for a while and then headed out to lunch. We stumbled across a restaurant that is focused around using ingredients from the Amazon. So we both had rice bowls mine was duck and in a sauce from an indigenous root from the Amazon. It was really yummy and VERY filling. We then went to a supermarket to pick up some supplies for the next few days and headed back to do a wash and have some dinner. Not much to report but looking forward to exploring Belem tomorrow.Leggi altro
