Une bonne nuit de repos… quel bonheur 😌✨

On savoure cette grâce matinée bien méritée, mais au moment de se lever, nos jambes semblent être en bois 😂🪵. Cette sensation étrange quand on demande à nos muscles un peu plus que d’habitude 💪😅

Dans un coin de ma tête je me dis qu’un massage ne serait pas de refus… ou encore mieux, quelques heures dans un spa 🧖‍♀️🧖‍♂️✨. Je lance discrètement une recherche sur mon téléphone 📱 et je trouve l’endroit idéal à moins de 4 km à pied de l’appartement 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Angélique émerge doucement et me dit : " Un spa, ça serait quand même sympa… mais bon, ça ne va pas être facile à trouver 🤔 "

Je la regarde avec un grand sourire 😄 Elle comprend tout de suite que j’ai eu exactement la même idée… et que j’ai déjà repéré l’endroit parfait 😏✨

On réserve pour 16h00 🕓 et en attendant on profite de la journée pour mettre à jour nos publications 💻📝

À notre arrivée, on est tout de suite emballés 😍 L’endroit est à la fois chic, chaleureux… et accessible pour les petits budgets comme le nôtre 🤍✨

Pour la première fois du voyage, on va enfin utiliser nos maillots de bain 👙🩳 (ou pas...🤪).

On commence donc à se changer quand, du coin de l’œil, j’observe les personnes qui entrent avant nous 👀. Un homme passe avec une serviette autour de la taille. Intrigué, je m’approche de la porte qu’il vient de franchir et je remarque plusieurs symboles : pas de portable 📵, d’accord… pas de nourriture 🚫🍴, logique… mais au centre, un maillot de femme barré.

Hum… pas de bikini ? 😅

J’explique ça à Angélique pour savoir ce qu’elle en pense. Le doute commence à s’installer sur la signification du panneau 🤨. Je finis par lui dire : " J’ai bien l’impression que ça veut dire… maillot interdit 😳 "

Je vais alors voir la dame à l’accueil, qui me confirme que c’est bien cela ✅

Bon… on se déshabille, on garde simplement nos serviettes sur nous et on se dit qu’on verra bien 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️. Peut-être qu’il y a des sections séparées pour les femmes et les hommes. Ce serait dommage, car on aurait aimé profiter du spa ensemble 💛

Et bien non.
Le spa est totalement mixte 😮
Pas de douches séparées, pas d’espaces distincts selon le sexe. Les bains froids, les saunas, le hammam… tout est partagé ♨️💦

Alors on observe discrètement les autres pour comprendre comment se comporter et s’intégrer au fonctionnement 👀🙂

Les gens se déplacent avec leur serviette et ne la retirent que pour aller à la douche ou entrer dans les bains froids. Dans les saunas, si la serviette est enlevée, cela se fait avec discrétion.

Finalement, on se sent à l’aise assez rapidement 😌 Chacun vit son moment avec beaucoup de respect et sans aucune arrière-pensée ✨ C’est une question de bien-être, d’hygiène et de naturel.

Ce qu’on retient surtout de cette expérience, c’est que la pudeur est avant tout un facteur culturel et social 🌍

Pour avoir vécu au Canada et en Angleterre, deux cultures très pudiques, la différence est frappante.

On rentre ensuite à l’appartement 🏡 et on planifie la journée du lendemain.

Demain, on prendra le train en direction de Vienne 🚆 pour récupérer nos cartes d’identité 🪪. On vous expliquera dans la prochaine publication pourquoi on en a besoin.

Le train étant en après-midi, on prend le temps de se balader un peu avant le départ 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️☀️

C’est là qu’un homme vient nous aborder et nous dit : " Nous aimerions vous offrir le café ☕🥹 "

Trop gentil !! 💛

On accepte, puis on échange sur nos vies respectives, nos passions, le vélo 🚲✨

Après son départ, un jeune couple, assis devant nous, engage aussi la conversation 🙂
Ils sont serbes et nous conseillent d’aller visiter la forteresse de Petrovaradin, à Novi Sad 🏰

A good night’s rest… what a joy 😌✨

We enjoy this well-deserved lie-in, but when it’s time to get up, our legs feel like wood 😂🪵. That strange feeling when you’ve asked a little more of your muscles than usual 💪😅

In the back of my mind, I’m thinking that a massage would be amazing… or even better, a few hours at a spa 🧖‍♀️🧖‍♂️✨. So I discreetly search on my phone 📱 and find the perfect place less than 4 km from the apartment 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Angélique slowly wakes up and says to me:
“A spa would actually be really nice… but it probably won’t be easy to find 🤔”

I look at her with a big smile 😄 She immediately realizes that I had exactly the same idea… and that I’ve already found the perfect place 😏✨

We book for 4:00 p.m. 🕓 and in the meantime, we spend the day catching up on our posts 💻📝

As soon as we arrive, we’re instantly impressed 😍 The place is classy, warm… and affordable for small budgets like ours 🤍✨

For the first time on this trip, we’re finally going to use our swimsuits 👙🩳 (or maybe not...🤪)

We start getting changed when, out of the corner of my eye, I watch the people going in before us 👀. A man walks by with a towel wrapped around his waist. Curious, I step closer to the door he just went through and notice several symbols: no phones 📵, okay… no food 🚫🍴, makes sense… but in the middle, there’s a picture of a women’s swimsuit crossed out.

Hmm… no bikini? 😅

I explain it to Angélique to see what she thinks. We start wondering what the sign really means 🤨. In the end, I tell her:
“I really think it means… no swimsuits allowed 😳”

So I go to the front desk, and the lady confirms that yes, that’s exactly what it means ✅

Well… we get undressed, keep our towels wrapped around us, and tell ourselves we’ll see how it goes 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️. Maybe there are separate sections for women and men. That would be a shame, because we were hoping to enjoy the spa together 💛

But actually, no.
The spa is completely mixed 😮
No separate showers, no separate spaces by gender. The cold plunge pools, the saunas, the hammam… everything is shared ♨️💦

So we quietly observe the others to understand how to behave and adapt to the setting 👀🙂

People move around with their towels on and only remove them to shower or get into the cold pools. In the saunas, if the towel comes off, it’s done discreetly and with full respect for everyone else 🤍

In the end, we feel comfortable pretty quickly 😌 Everyone is simply enjoying their own moment. There’s a lot of respect, comfort, and not a single awkward thought ✨ It’s all about well-being, hygiene, and what feels natural, and everything is done with respect for everyone.

What we take away most from this experience is that modesty is above all a cultural and social factor 🌍

Having lived in Canada and England, two much more modest cultures, the difference really stands out.

We then head back to the apartment 🏡 and plan the next day.

Tomorrow, we’ll take the train to Vienna 🚆 to pick up our identity cards 🪪. We’ll explain in the next post why we need them.

Since the train leaves in the afternoon, we take some time to stroll around before departing 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️☀️

That’s when a man comes up to me and says:
“We’d like to offer you a coffee ☕🥹”

So kind!! 💛

We say yes, and then chat about our lives, our passions, and cycling 🚲✨

After he leaves, a young couple sitting in front of us also starts talking to us 🙂
They’re Serbian and recommend that we visit Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad 🏰
