Denmark has beautiful rolling countryside, and predominantly all country with cottage style homes scattered through.

We stopped in at Middelfart (meaning Middle Way) for a walk break on our way to Copenhagen, the town buildings have a similar feel to Germany.
Was originally known as Mæthælfar 1231, the town is located on the narrowest point of the Little Belt ( as explained to me Little bridge, Little belt) .

The 13th century they were known for fishing porpoises, the 16th century they had increased cattle trade and after the Swedish wars in the 17th century the town trade suffered.
The 19th century, 1836 they established their own harbour and started trading the agriculture locally grown.
The 20th century, when the bridge was built and increased the population and the town expanded incorporating close by towns.

The church in town and close to the water is called St Nicholas.... is anyone seeing a pattern with the names..... 🤔🤪
