So I like to research the areas I've been to so here's some info on Copenhagen, you can skip to the photo's if wish, this one is lengthy 😉

Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital is coastal which is linked to Malmo in southern Sweden by the Öresund Bridge. The port was originally fished for Herring, then served as a naval port (which is still there but on the opposite side so it isn't in front of the Royal Palace) and now mainly used by sail boats and cruise ships.

The original name was Kaupmannahofn, from old Norse meaning merchants harbour. Over time between the Danish, Germans, Swedish, Icelandic and the English is slowly changed, the Latin caupo meaning tradesman.

Archaeological finds suggest human settlement origins dating back to the 11th century (Stone Age) and also believed that the town itself dates back to the Viking Age.

The city's historic center, contains Frederiksstaden, an 18th-century rococo district, the royal family (yes our Princess Mary) lives in Amalienborg Palace, there are four buildings in a circle, Queen Margareth Lycra in one and Mary and Frederick another.
Nearby is Christiansborg Palace and the Renaissance-era Rosenborg Castle, surrounded by beautiful lawn and gardens.
There are a number of bridges connecting the various districts, the city is characterised by parks, promenades and canals.
