    Grouse mountain

    June 6, 2017 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

Grouse mountain was great! I expected it to be quite cold seeing the snow still laying around. However, it was surprisingly quite warm! To get to grouse mountain, we had to take a 6 minute ride up in the gondola, accompanied by facts and history about the Capolina area.

There, we saw a bird show, lumberjack show and two of the bears kept in captivity.

First thing we did was go to the bird show where we saw a bald eagle, falcon and an owl. It was great and very informative! My favorite was the owl, I got to take a close up photo of the owl after the show =p

Afterwards, we went to check out the bears, but they were both asleep when we got there. We decided to come back an hour to check on them. In the meantime, we went to the lumberjack show, where we saw role played woodcutting races, and other competitions that lumberjacks did.

We went back to check on the bears, and we were fortunate enough to see them awake and in action. The two bears that reside there are called Grinder and Coola. Grinder is said to be the more playful one compared to Coola, who is said to be the more dominant bear. Grinder was digging, throwing and sleeping in the snow, it was absolutely adorable.
