After getting my bike set up, I headed down to the Han River. Unlike last time, I knew how to get there :-)

The Best Tunnel in the World!

You have no idea how awesome this tunnel is!!!!
It comes at the end of a long multi-kilometre uphill slog. Not only is the tunnel downhill, but it is beautifully cool inside and has neon lights ANDEn savoir plus
Coffee Time!

Today I have been taking very short breaks as I am not sure how long it will take me to get to my destination. But finally, I got to within 30 minutes of my hotel, and a coffee shop appeared right onEn savoir plus

On the Road Again

Todays ride includes a pass and the total elevation gain for the day is about 550m.
I got away about 8am after a breakfast of dried squid... bought at the convenience store last night.

Over the Pass... Time for Coffee

I zoomed down the pass back to the river and found the first coffee shop.
In true Korean style, the owner gifted me the snack.
That Headwind!

For the last two days, I have had a headwind. Every time I pass these grasses, they make it obvious as their fronds blow like hair in the wind.

After this it was a 40 minute ride to my hotel in Chuncheon.
A Statue...

I have yet to find out about this statue.
While I was stopped to look at it a little girl about 4 or 5 asked me if I was Korean. She was very impressed to hear I was from Canada.
Korea's Longest Cable Car

As I was riding along earlier in the day, I was astounded to see a cable car that crosses a lake and goes up a mountain.

Two things to note if you zoom in. One, you can see how far the cable car goes. Two, there are these weird fishing places where you can set up your chair and fish.

Tonight's hotel room is cheap but since I am on the 4th floor I got a view!

Today I return down the North Han river. So it is up and over the same pass as yesterday.

As I was cruising down from the pass, enjoying the sunshine, I came across a cafe right on the bike path.

Day 3 Summary

So the third day of riding is finished and I am most of the way back down the North Han river. It’s a Saturday today, so the bike trails are much busier than yesterday.

It’s a Cannondale F5 (or 7?). If it’s an F5 it dates from about 2010. It’s sturdy, but pretty light… I’m used to an e-bike so everything feels light!
