We had decided to leave early today to beat the heat so this morning saw me creeping around a quiet dorm at 6am trying not to wake everyone up!

It was another hot day and I wasn’t feeling too brilliant - think I’ve caught the ‘Camino cough’ that lots of pilgrims have. Not surprising when we all share dorms.

Had a fabulous night’s sleep and woke up at the same time as the other two in my room which made getting ready a whole lot easier. Went to meet the others just before 7 but they’d had a roughWeiterlesen
It was a hot and sweaty walk today. The first half was good and it wound through some characterful villages.
We came across Atapuerca, where fossils of some of the first human beings in the worldWeiterlesen
Oooh it felt like forever to get here! There were 8km still to get to the centre of town when we got to the outskirts.
Walked with the lovely Elise from Paris for some of the way and we were allWeiterlesen
First ‘rest day’ today and it was fab.
Started the day with a longer lie in and no having to frantically pack my rucksack for starters!
Went for the most blissful massage which left me feelingWeiterlesen
After a lovely sleep and a cornflakes breakfast at the Airbnb we checked out and made our way out of town past the cathedral which was beautiful bathed in early morning light.
