  • Da Nang Dragon Bridge

    12. mai 2019, Vietnam ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

When we returned at the hotel we told the personnel of the hotel we wanted to go from Nha Trang to Mui Né and they really did an effort to help us find a way. They got on the phone to get the right information. They told us however that it could be difficult to be on time for the bus which goes to Mui Né this evening. We told them we would see what happens. We thanked them for our pleasant stay and all the help and then we stepped into the taxi which brought us to the airport of Da Nang. Going to the airport we crossed the 'dragon bridge'.

  • Nha Trang Seamon Guesthouse

    12. mai 2019, Vietnam ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Seamoon Guesthouse: 2*. Address: 24/9A (100/11) Hung Vuong, Loc Tho, Thanh pho Nha Trang, VN. Costs 250,000 VND 1r1n (10€).

As soon as we landed in Nha Trang and got our luggage we took a taxi from the airport (602,000 VND, 24,08€) that brought us to the office of a bus company called The Sinh Tourist Offices. Over there they told us that the last bus to Mui Né had already left at 20:00 and that the next bus would leave tomorrow morning. We were stranded but from this bus company we got the name of another bus company called Tam Hahn. Perhaps they could help us further. It became clear that we could not go further to Mui Né this evening so we had to find a place to sleep. We informed at a few hotels but they were all fully booked so it wasn't that easy to find a place to spend the night. After a while we found one called Seamon Guesthouse. The man who manages this hotel looked for information on his laptop and gave us another telephone number. We could go to Mui Né tomorrow and had to be present at 07:30 the next day at Café Hanh. It was not so far from the hotel. The office opens at 07:10 in the morning. We went to have a look where the office was located exactly so that we could go there tomorrow. Then we went to a supermarket to get some food and drinks for our trip of the next day. What an evening!Les mer

  • From Nha Trang to Mui Né

    13. mai 2019, Vietnam ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Distance from Nha Trang to Mui Né 《225 km》

    [day 11]

At the break of day we went walking with our suitcases to the office where we were to step on the bus. But in stead of a big bus we were squeezed into a mini bus. This bus took us to a location just outside the town and there we waited for the 'real bus'. And this became a whole new adventure for us. We had never been on a 'sleeper bus' before (price 210,000 VND per person, total 420,000 VND, 16,80€). Like sardines in a can or like getting into a bobsleigh in a bus. We all took our positions and off we went to Mui Né. It took about five hours to reach our destination. Because it was daytime we could see a lot of interesting places on our way to our next hotel.Les mer

Impressions from our journey with the sleeper bus to Mui Né. Underway we stopped a few times to have a chance to take a drink or something to eat or just stretch your legs for a moment. When we came close to our destination we could see the white sand dunes at Mui Né.Les mer

Melon Resort: 4*. Address: Quarter 5, Phu Hai, Mui Né, VN. Telephone: +842523711112. Costs 67€ 1r2n (incl. 2x breakfast). Reservation no: 3712.696.081. Booked on 20190426 at Booking.com. Remark: Unfortunately we only had a 1 night stay here because we couldn't get here on time!

At last we reached our hotel and what a reception we got there. Like we were VIPs. With an electric car they brought our suitcases and us to our room! We were dazzled by the beauty of the gardens and this place as a whole. The white houses had blue roof tiles, I had never seen that before. And we had a nice view on the ocean from our balcony.

Impression of our room (number 2216). We unpacked and enjoyed the view from the balcony. There were two rocking chairs on the balcony with a table between. Then we put on our swimming clothes and went to the swimming pool. Here it was so nice. Exactly what we needed. The towels were lying at the bar and used towels you could put there in a basket. Very well arranged. After the swimming we visited the reception, because only there we could connect to wifi. We drank a little and asked some information. Very helpfull personnel. Then we went back to our room to inspect it further.Les mer

  • Mui Né Melon Resort

    13. mai 2019, Vietnam ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

We wanted to go to the beach so we crossed the road and came on the property of another hotel. We told them were looking for the beach. They told us we could go to the beach belonging to their hotel and use their swimming pool as well against a amall fee, but we told them we would go to the beach at another way. We returned to our own hotel and told them we wanted to visit the beach and they called someone who would bring us there with the electric car. The driver would also wait for us to pick us up again and drive us back to the hotel. Speaking of service. The beach was a bit dissappointing. I think it was more a spot for fishermen than for tourists. We didn't stay there for long. On our way back to the hotel, the driver stopped at an ATM, so we had the opportunity to get some more money and then we were transported back to the hotel.Les mer

In the evening we got back to the reception. There were not so many other guests. In fact, it was quite still. We ordered a drink but the language was yet again a problem. I ordered a glass of milk, but got something that looked like milk, but in fact was a kind of cocktail drink, very sweet, but also very nice. We asked at the reception if they could arrange a transfer to Vung Tau for the next day for us. No problem they told us. Assured we went back to our room. Tomorrow we would continue with the last part of our journey.Les mer

After breakfast we went to our room to collect our suitcases and we stored them temporarily at the reception. We visited the little souvenirshop outside, took an ice cream and waited for the bus to arrive. It was a big surprise to us that once again it appeared to be a sleeper bus. This one was a bit more luxurious than the one we had before. Again it was very narrow inside to get to your seat, but it was far more better than a train journey. We took off our shoes and lied down. This time it took us a little less time to reach our next destination and we laughed a lot again during our journey to Vung Tau.Les mer

  • Vung Tau

    14. mai 2019, Vietnam ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

We took the opportunity to visit the beach for a short time and we discovered an ATM to pull some more money. I did not succeed and I felt that my feet began to itch. What happened? A lot of ants were also there. I quickly left the place. My sister thought I overreacted, but when she was using the ATM herself she experienced the same and understood that I did not overreact. Then we wandered through the streets for some time and finally we discovered a nice little café where I ordered a hot chocolate drink and something to eat. The place reminded me at a spot in Paris. Fancy furniture and the terrace was nicely decorated too. It became dark and we had to find our way back to the hotel. I remembered how. At the room we watched some tv and drank a cup of tea and coffee and I ate a little more from my peanut cookie (peanuts spread out on a kind of a hard and big pancake covered with honey) which I had bought at the airport. Tomorrow we will visit 'Jesus' on the hill. We had already seen him earlier today crom a distance when we were brought to our hotel, but tomorrow we will meet 'Him' for real.Les mer

  • Vung Tau Green Hotel

    15. mai 2019, Vietnam ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

    [day 13]

Today we must be at the place where the high speed ferry will depart at around 11:30 because it will be leaving at 12:00. So, we still have enough time left to visit 'Jesus at the hill'. It is not so far from our hotel either. But first we have breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was served in a hall downstairs. It looked very nice and there were mainly tourists from Asia. No peanut butter however or strawberry jam. You could take nice soft cake though. Also there was 'normal' milk to be found. You could also have toast. We had a pleasant breakfast here.Les mer

  • Vung Tau Tượng Chúa Kitô Vua

    15. mai 2019, Vietnam ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

After breakfast we were to meet 'Jesus'. We thought the taxi would drive up a hill and let us step out there. But that was not the case. The taxi stopped at the beginning of the hill. At first I thought the taxi driver had made a mistake, but it didn't take long to realise that this really was the right spot to visit the Jesus statue. The man from the reception of our hotel had written down the address on a piece of paper which I gave to the taxi driver when we stepped into the taxi. So, we had come to the right place. We got out of the taxi and my sister told me immediately that she was not going to walk all the way to the top of the hill and she went to sit down on a bench. I thought, I really have been looking forward to this visit and now that I am here I shall visit 'Jesus' no matter what! In good spirits I began to climb the stairs. I noticed very quickly that I'm not as young anymore as I would like to be, but every time I looked at the people coming down the stairs I thought it would not take long anymore before I would be there, because they all were looking still rather fresh. It wasn't easy. At a certain moment I thought by myself 'taking a selfie from a distance wouldn't be so bad'. I reached step number 650. I could read that because they had written it on the steps at certain points.Les mer
