A day of three parts

The route for today was a 28 km drop down to Corte and then an 18 km roundtrip up to the top of a renowned valley and back to the hotel in Corte. A relatively easy day after yesterday’s and so it would leave us time to explore the city a bit.

We left the Calacuccia hotel under blue skies and had a 15 km descent through the stunning gorges of the Golo river. That woke the eyes up but not really the legs but it was followed by a 4 km climb at 4 - 6%. A stromm in the park you might think after yesterday but then again we now had the bags back and it was a reminder of just how much a difference they make. We knew that the second part of the ride today was not going to be that easy with a 9 km straight climb at 7+% so we deciced to drop the bags at the Corte hotel before continuing with the trip up the valley.
