Got up close to the stones thanks to a friend who works there. We were the only ones there at 8.30 in the morning.
A traditional, if not very glamorous start to our Lake District holiday!
Our home for the next week in a lovely secluded woodland. A walk by the lake and pizza from the wood fired oven finished the day off nicely.

Met up with friends for a walk round Derwentwater, picnic and BBQ. Kids had fun scrambling on rocks, playing on rope swings and building dens.

The rain finally stopped, so we walked round tarn hows and tom heights. Wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful place but got to get back for Moonlit Canoeing!
