• Mojacar Pueblo and Garrucha

    February 4 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Today's first stop is at Mojocar Pueblo, the old town situated up in the hills overlooking the Playa de Mojacar. We had to climb quite high but the views were well worth it. Lots of very narrow streets and steps, getting a car around theses streets is not easy.
Once again not a lot is open, even the church was closed but we found a couple of shops to mooch around, regulation fridge magnet bought and a necklace with the symbol of Mojacar on it , to ward off evil and bring me good luck .
We did find a small bar open for lunch.
The streets are being re-paved to give a cobbled effect, very clever how they do it, they tarmac the road then use a metal stencil which they place over the top and then roll over it with a machine to hammer in the pattern .

Next we move on to Garrucha just up the coast. Hmm, glad we didn't come here. Another one road town, bigger than Mojacar with a marina as well as a beach but also more high rise buildings, again nothing open and no one about. We walked along the prom then headed for home, eating in tonight.
