We’re not seeing any traffic, which is a bit unusual. We’re leaving early enough that we’re not going to be late even if there was any traffic but, still, it’s never fun to deal with.

Since there’s no traffic, we’re getting to the airport quicker than we had expected. We’re still not close to our terminal though. Kennedy Airport is so big that it’s almost like a small town.

The airports in New York seem like they are always under construction. I never see that at any of the other airports that we travel to though. It only seems to be happening here. I don’t like this. It makes New York look very unfinished and dirty.Read more

We’re the first ones in line to check in, once Icelandair decides to open up. There are plenty of people here but, strangely, none of them got in line until we did. Most people are so afraid to do anything until they see others doing it first and then they follow the herd. I guess that means we’re trendsetters.Read more

Bad First Impressions

Iceland Air is finally open but they are not making a good impression on us. They are pressuring Kathy to pay extra money for our seats and when she refused to do so, they forced us to check our bags. My bag even fit in the size check device but they said I need to check it anyway because it looked “snug”. If it fits, it fits! What is wrong with this airline?Read more

I’m sorry to say that I had to vote with the sad face for my security experience today. The people working here are always unnecessarily rude and pushy. They seem very unhappy with their jobs and take it out on the travelers they deal with.Read more

The TSA area was very quiet and empty today so I don’t know why the people who work there are so grouchy. Most people are very happy to be going off on vacations and I imagine that grumpy TSA staff really brings them down.Read more

These two workers for Iceland Air are determined to make trouble for everyone. They must have a list of all passengers who didn’t check luggage because they have started calling them to the desk one by one and then telling them that their carry on bag has to be checked. How obnoxious!Read more

We’re close to the end of the line for boarding the plane. Since we don’t have any bags that need to go into the overhead bin, I suppose that it doesn’t really matter if we board first or last. I don’t think that we’ve ever sat so far in the back of an airplane. We’re seated among the last few rows. I had always thought that planes board people from the back and then go forward. I guess Iceland Air doesn’t believe in that. So far, I’m not very impressed by this airline. I’m really hoping that things start improving.Read more

The lights are turned down low to give passengers an opportunity to get some sleep while flying. It’s a great gesture but, unfortunately, I’m never able to sleep on a plane. I just can’t ever get comfortable enough to relax and fall asleep.Read more
