Via del Pantheon

Despite the long lines outside, it doesn't seem very crowded inside. I'm still in awe that were actually inside the Pantheon!
In Awe

It's so easy to get good shots with Danbo. I just stood him up on the side moulding and had him looking bup at the domed ceiling. I thought that one of the guards would say something to me aboutもっと詳しく
Groot is Speechless

Groot is also flabbergasted by the magnificent architecture of the Pantheon. I noticed a few people watching me set up this shot but most people didn't seem to notice. I'm guessing that all they couldもっと詳しく
Dinner Plans

By now, we were all getting hungry and decided to start heading someplace to have dinner. Using his phone, Bryan found a place that sounded good and wasn't too far away. I'm expecting to have a niceもっと詳しく
Enoteca e Taverna Capranica

It didn't take us long to walk to Enoteca e Taverna Capranica, a cozy looking little restaurant near the Pantheon. This place has very good reviews so we're expecting a good dinner. We sat at theもっと詳しく
You're a Corker!

A barrel filled with corks from used wine bottles was close to where we were sitting. They seem to drink a lot of wine in Italy! Something about this scene looks so interesting to me. I'm thinkingもっと詳しく
Bread for Starters

We started off, of course, with some very fresh and tasty bread. Like all Italian restaurants, even the ones back home, there was no butter for the bread. Instead, we had a saucer of olive oil to dipもっと詳しく
Time for Dinner

I ordered Cacio e Pepe. Cacio e pepe is a pasta dish from modern Roman cuisine. "Cacio e pepe" means "cheese and pepper" in several central Italian dialects. As the name suggests, the ingredients ofもっと詳しく
Kathy's Dinner

Kathy ordered Gnocchetti Al Ragu. Gnocchi al Ragu are gnocchi (dumplings) with a meat (beef) sauce.

Bryan's Dinner

Bryan ordered prosciutto, with buffalo mozzarella, from the appitizer menu, along with a pasta dish. He must really be hungry! Prosciutto is an Italian dry-cured ham that is usually thinly slicedもっと詳しく
So Delicious!

Everything was so tasty and delicious but one thing we all noticed was that our pasta was kind of hard, as if it wasn't really cooked enough. Apparently, that's how pasta gets eaten in Rome. I'm notもっと詳しく
Very Spicy!

My Cacio e Pepe had so much pepper on it that it was too spicy for me to eat very much of it. Bryan finished it off for me so at least the food didn't go to waste. I don't know how he's able to eat soもっと詳しく
Then Comes the Check

Kathy offered to get the check, which was nice of her. We always take turns paying, which is fair. I'll make sure that I take care of the next dinner bill. I hope that it's in a restaurant as nice asもっと詳しく
The Way Back

We're almost back to the hotel. It's been a long day and we're feeling tired but happy. The walk back to the hotel helped us walk off our dinner. I'm in the mood for some gelato but, sadly, it looksもっと詳しく
Back to Spagna

Good morning! Everybody slept very well last night. I guess that touring Rome, along with the time difference we're still adjusting to, wore us all out. We got an early start today and just got toもっと詳しく
Fares, Please!

The ticket machines were very easy to use and, thankfully, had an option for English. I was kind of disappointed that, like France, they use paper tickets that are only good for one ride rather than aもっと詳しく
Going Down

These long steep escalators remind me of the ones in London's Underground and the Paris Metro. European subway systems all seem to be very deep underground.
On the Tracks

I have to say, I'm a little disappointed in the appearance of Rome's subway stations. It's very dark, gloomy and depressing. I think a bit more lighting in this station would go a very long way.もっと詳しく
The Queue

I'm so happy that we ordered our tickets for the Coliseum well in advance because the lines are horrific. We're on one of the shortest lines, since we already have our tickets, but it still looksもっと詳しく
The Coliseum

This is our first look at the Coliseum as we went in. I'm was surprised to see that it looks like it's under construction. Apparently, the Coliseum is in a state of nearly perpetual conservation. Realもっと詳しく
Touring the Ruins

There was an option for us to take a guided tour of the Coliseum but, with all of the information posted up all around us, we didn’t think that we really needed a guide. We usually prefer to getもっと詳しく
Happy Couple

I’m glad that Bryan was around to take some photos of Kathy and I together. We usually have to either get pictures separately or do a selfie shot. I always love to see pictures of us together!
Walking the Halls

For such a popular tourist attraction, I’m surprised that it’s not more crowded here. I’m so happy that it’s not though. I don’t think that I’d enjoy being here if every part of theもっと詳しく
