Coal Wharf

Nachdem ich heute meinen Kaffee getrunken habe, hatte ich vor mir die Haare zu schneiden, was alleine natürlich gar nicht so einfach ist. Dennoch bin ich der Meinung, dass es ganz gut funktioniert hat. Als das erledigt war, gab es noch mal Pancakes und im Anschluss daran habe ich mich wieder auf den Weg gemacht. Heute hatte ich einen Nationalpark als Ziel gesucht. Leider muss man dort mit einer Fähre hinfahren, die natürlich Geld kostet. Da ich das vermeiden wollte, bin ich eine lange Kiesstraße gefahren, die sehr holprig durch das Buschland geführt hat. Das war vielleicht etwas mühsamer, aber dafür kostenlos. Angekommen musste ich bemerken, dass es auf dieser Seite des Flusses keine Möglichkeit gab Köder zu kaufen. Dementsprechend bin ich zu Fuß mit der Fähre auf die andere Seite gefahren, da das kostenlos ist. Nur leider hatte der Kiosk auf der anderen Seite auch zu also konnte ich auch hier keinen Köder kaufen und der Fußweg von einer Stunde in die Stadt war mit um diese Uhrzeit auch zu weit. Aus diesem Grund bin ich wieder zurückgefahren und habe mich auf Platz Suche begeben. Während dessen konnte ich einen Fischkutter erspäht, natürlich habe ich bei der Besatzung nachgefragt, ob ich nicht mit rausfahren könnte. Ich habe meine Nummer hinterlegt, die die Besatzung später ihrem Chef geben wollte. Leider habe ich nichts mehr von Ihnen gehört. Mein heutiges Lager wollte ich an einer day use area direkt am Fluss aufgeschlagen. Ich habe dort noch etwas mit Schinken geangelt, konnte allerdings leider nichts fangen. Den restlichen Tag habe ich damit verbracht, das Flussufer zu erkunden. Ich könnte einen kleinen Wels mit einer Schaufel aus dem Wasser befördern, habe Delfine gesehen und Pelikane beobachtet. Am Abend habe ich noch etwas auf die Lichter der Stadt geguckt und habe mich dann schlafen gelegt.

After drinking my coffee today, I planned to cut my hair, which of course isn't that easy to do on your own. Nevertheless, I think it worked quite well. Once that was done, I had pancakes again and then set off again. Today I had chosen a national park as my destination. Unfortunately, you have to take a ferry to get there, which of course costs money. As I wanted to avoid this, I drove a long gravel road that was very bumpy through the bushland. It was perhaps a little more tedious, but it was free. When I arrived, I realized that there was no possibility to buy bait on this side of the river. So I took the ferry on foot to the other side, as this is free of charge. Unfortunately, the kiosk on the other side was also closed, so I couldn't buy any bait here either and the one-hour walk into town was also too far for me at this time of day. For this reason, I drove back again and went in search of a spot. During this time I spotted a fishing boat and of course I asked the crew if I could go out with them. I left my number, which the crew later wanted to give to their boss. Unfortunately, I never heard from them again. I wanted to set up camp today in a day use area right by the river. I did some ham fishing there, but unfortunately didn't catch anything. I spent the rest of the day exploring the riverbank. I managed to get a small catfish out of the water with a shovel, saw dolphins and watched pelicans. In the evening, I looked at the city lights and then went to bed.Læs mere
