Als ich heute aufgestanden bin, war mir klar, dass der Tag des Aufbruchs gekommen ist. Ich habe Kaffee getrunken, alles abgebaut und bin mir noch mal einen Kaffee in der Stadt holen gegangen. Dort habe ich telefoniert, einen Spaziergang durch den Ort gemacht und mir ein paar Secondhand Klamotten gekauft. Im Anschluss daran habe ich die letzten Besorgungen gemacht, die ich für meine Weiterreise brauche, und bin losgefahren. Das Ziel war der Wald und die Suche nach Wombats. Auf Google Maps habe ich mir ein Weingut rausgesucht, bei dem ich gerne ein Wein Tasting machen möchte, gesagt, getan bin ich dorthin gefahren. Das Weingut hieß Crossing Wombat also der perfekte Name für meine Mission. Dort habe ich ein paar Weinsorten probieren dürfen und bin im Anschluss daran in das nächste Örtchen gefahren, um Grillzeug für den Abend zu kaufen. Dort habe ich auch noch etwas für meine Auspuffanlage zum repariere geholt. Auf dem Parkplatz bin ich mit einer Frau ins Gespräch gekommen, die mich aufgrund meines Kennzeichens angesprochen hat. Ich habe sie gefragt, wo ich hier Wombats finde und sie hat mir einen Ort genannt, den mir auch schon die Rentner auf dem free Camp Ground genannt haben. Allerdings hatte ich ihn vergessen und war dementsprechend doppelt froh, diese Frau getroffen zu haben. Also bin ich in die Richtung gefahren, doch da ich auf halber Strecke eigentlich gerne einen Sport für die Nacht finden wollte, bin ich irgendwann ein Dirt Track rechts von der normalen Straße abgegangen. Nachdem ich diesen eine ganze Weile gefolgt bin und im Niemandsland war, bin ich auf eine kleine Lichtung gekommen, auf der ich mein Auto abgestellt und mein Camp errichtet habe. Die Lichtung war so friedlich, keinerlei menschliche Geräusche, nur Natur, Felswände und tiefer Busch ringsrum. Nachdem das Camp aufgestellt war, habe ich Holz gesammelt und während dessen eine Blutlache entdeckt. Das hat mich natürlich etwas beunruhigt. Allerdings denke ich nicht, dass was es auch war mir gefährlich sein könnte, da es hier keine großen Räuber gibt. Danach habe ich ein Feuer entzündet, alles zum Grillen vorbereitet meinen Sekt geöffnet und habe den Abend auf meiner eigenen Lichtung genossen. Einfach ein Traum.

When I got up today, I realized that the day of departure had arrived. I had a coffee, dismantled everything and went to get another coffee in town. There I made a phone call, took a walk through the town and bought some second-hand clothes. I then ran the last few errands I needed for my onward journey and set off. My destination was the forest and the search for wombats. I looked up a winery on Google Maps where I would like to do a wine tasting, so I drove there. The winery was called Crossing Wombat, so it was the perfect name for my mission. I was allowed to try a few types of wine there and then drove to the next village to buy barbecue stuff for the evening. There I also picked up something to repair my exhaust system. In the parking lot, I struck up a conversation with a woman who approached me because of my license plate number. I asked her where I could find wombats here and she told me a place that the pensioners at the free camp ground had already told me. However, I had forgotten it and was therefore doubly pleased to have met this woman. So I drove in that direction, but as I wanted to find a sport for the night halfway there, I eventually took a dirt track to the right of the normal road. After following these for quite a while and being in no man's land, I came to a small clearing where I parked my car and set up camp. The clearing was so peaceful, no human sounds, just nature, rock faces and deep bush all around. After setting up camp, I collected some wood and discovered a pool of blood. That naturally worried me a little. However, I don't think that whatever it was could be dangerous for me, as there are no big predators here. Afterwards, I lit a fire, prepared everything for the barbecue, opened my champagne and enjoyed the evening in my own clearing. Simply a dream.En savoir plus
