Bukit Lawang

Ultima cena a Bukit Lawang prima di proseguire domani verso l’aereoporto di Medan.
In questa zona ho passato gli ultimi 3 giorni:

Ho passato i primi due giorni a fare un trekking nella giungla alla ricerca degli orangotanghi e di altri primati. Purtroppo come al solito ha diluviato, con tanto di fulmini molto vicini e sentieri trasformati in fiumiciattoli. Per fortuna dopo un paio d’ore la pioggia è diminuita e abbiamo potuto continuare il trekking, per arrivare al campo dove abbiamo passato la notte. Qui ci siamo divertiti molto con il nostro gruppo, fatto giochi alla sera e siamo sopravvissuti alle creature della giungla come parassiti, serpenti velenosi e sanguisughe. La mattina abbiamo anche incontrato diverse scimmie di passaggio che si sono fermate a rubare gli avanzi dalla spazzatura.
Il secondo giorno abbiamo continuato il trekking e visto altre belle creature, per poi finire il giro con un rafting di 20 minuti lungo il fiume, che è stato divertentissimo.

Oggi invece io e Lukas (uno dei ragazzi del trek) siamo andati a visitare la batcave. Pensavamo fosse una cosa piccola, invece siamo finiti in una caverna enorme, con tre camere, dove abbiamo dovuto arrampicarci e passare per degli spazi molto ristretti.
È stato molto avventuroso e per fortuna c’era anche una guida locale nella grotta perchè noi ci siamo persi e stavamo tornando indietro nella grotta numero tre invece che dirigerci verso la grotta uno, dove avremmo trovato l’uscita.
Dopodichè abbiamo fatto pranzo e io ho terminato la giornata con un bel massaggio tradizionale.

Last dinner in Bukit Lawang before continuing tomorrow towards Medan airport.
I spent the last 3 days in this area:

I spent the first two days trekking through the jungle in search of orangutans and other primates. Unfortunately, as usual, it poured, complete with very close lightning and paths transformed into rivers. Luckily after a couple of hours the rain lessened and we were able to continue trekking to get to the camp where we spent the night. Here we had a lot of fun with our group, played games in the evening and survived jungle creatures such as parasites, poisonous snakes and leeches. In the morning we also encountered several passing monkeys who stopped to steal scraps from the garbage.
On the second day we continued the trek and saw more beautiful creatures, then finished the tour with a 20 minute rafting trip down the river, which was so much fun.

Today Lukas (one of the guys on the trek) and I went to visit the batcave. We thought it was something small, but instead we ended up in a huge cave, with three rooms, where we had to climb and pass through very narrow spaces.
It was very adventurous and luckily there was also a local guide in the cave because we got lost and were going back to cave number three instead of heading towards cave one, where we would have found the exit.
Afterwards we had lunch and I ended the day with a nice traditional massage.Read more
