Sunday Crafts in San Telmo

The main draw of San Telmo is the Sunday antique market. As previously mentioned, this was the oldest part of the city and as the area fell into neglect (as the rich people moved further out and away from the center or died during one of the many pandemics) often the mansions were abandoned leaving the buildings to distant heirs or the homes were rented to many families for communal housing. Money was tight so the neighbors decided to sell the things they found in the houses, and thus, the antique market was formed.
