Cipressi di San Quirico d'Orcia

Next photo op stop on the way to Montepulciano was another iconic Tuscan view, the famed Cypress trees around a contemporary hilltop sculpture, with views across the rolling countryside. It isn’t even the sculpture here that is the highlight, it is the cluster of majestic Cypress pines standing tall and isolated on the empty hillside. Once again the fields have been ploughed leaving the surrounding fields clumpy and not as picturesque as the images I have seen, but it is still an iconic view.

We also managed to stop a few more times to photograph the beautiful scenery. I love the way properties line their driveways with rows of Cypress pines. They are striking against the smooth rolling hills. This really is a stunning region of Italy and I feel so lucky that we have been able to explore it and appreciate it.Baca lagi
