Day 14 - Renmark

No so cold for a change but a turn in the weather. Drizzled for most of the day.

Bacon and eggs for brekky in the camp kitchen then off to town for some supplies.

Visits to the chemist, BCF, Big W and Woolies were the order of the day. All bar Anne ventured into town. Given Annes reputation as “The dog whisperer” she remained to baby sit them.

The battery in my car has been playing up for some time. Had it looked at in Perth before departure so thought it was ok. Had to use the battery pack to start it a few times so far on this journey. Given the next week is on remote roads on the darling Rivet Run , thought I’d best get it sorted.

A call to Isuzu’s Roadside assistance resulted in a new battery under warranty. Great service.

I met one of the parks’ be full time residents. Not only was she a bundle of knowledge but also the carer of the parks’ resident kangaroo population.

An early start (for dinner) in the camp kitchen saw myself concoct a great warm mulled wine and Graham prepare the dough for pizza night tomorrow. A couple of boneless rolled lamb roasts were tonight’s fare with roast veges.

It just so happened a food van was ordered for the park today……..donuts and churros. What a bonus. He parked right next to us in the camp kitchen. It proved even more valuable when, the operator offered us his unsold jam donuts.
