Day 16 - Wentworth to Broken Hill

Well……the coming of daylight resulted in a complete reassessment of our journey.

Karen’s wonderful planning identifying suitable accommodation along the Darling River had to be changed.

Overnight rainfall resulted in many of the roads we needed to traverse being closed.

After leaving the caravan park in Wentworth a team meeting was called at the local Tourist Info Centre, where the closures were confirmed.

To ease the disappointment, the meeting was adjourned to the local bakery.

Group consensus was the Broken Hill was a suitable alternative. After a quick phone call, we were able to secure 4 bays for 2 nights at the G’Day park in Broken Hill. Karen quickly ran the numbers on where when and how the rest of the journey was going to pan out and it was decided we could do another night in Broken Hill.
