• Day 18 - Broken Hill/Silverton (Part 1)

    August 12 in Australia ⋅ 🌬 15 °C

We all agreed, the unintentional detour to Broken Hill has been well worth it.

A warning now though, the abundance of photos in this footprint (that resulted in 2 parts) is a conscious decision..

Another lazy morning with a few slices of fruit toast for brekky, then into the cars for more sightseeing.

Fuel stop first, where I was almost accosted by a local who thought I’d stolen his car. He had an almost identical D-Max (not the vehicle he was currently in though) with very similar accessories. (I later met him at his place to compare chariots).

We headed to Silverton today and uncovered an awesome outback town with some amazing attractions.

But first, the bakery, which Karen voted the best so far.

Next, a short stroll up the road to the Mad Max 2 museum. Simply…..WOW. What an awesome place. So must information, so many photos, so many authentic items from the movie…….brilliant.

Another short stroll to a quirky art gallery with some outstanding pieces of work. It was here Peter joined local celebrity status being interviewed by the ABC for his opinion on the looming Mundi Mundi Bash. A music event that sees the population of the Broken Hill/Silverton population double
