UK day 12- York

Geoff and I went to the Jorvik centre this morning. This is a museum over a Viking site which was discovered when they started building a shopping centre in the 1970's. The museum has a glass floor at the start where you can see some of the actual dig site. They have recreated scenes from the Viking village pieced together from the artefacts that they unearthed. They found about 40,000 relics in the dig and are on display in the museum.
We walked to the pub where we met up with Jan, Mary and Aaron and some of their friends for a lovely lunch at The Whippet Inn. Nice lunch with great company. Mary and Aaron stayed with their friends for further drinks while Jan, Geoff and I went home via some souvenir shops. Another relaxing evening at our accommodationもっと詳しく
