Kambodscha, ab ins Nachbarland…. Es ist uns nun möglich einen kleinen Schritt weiter zu reisen. Hmm…wie wird es sein?
Wir hatten in der Hauptstadt Phnom Penh erstmal nur für zwei Nächte gebucht und das war auch gut so. Immer wieder merken wir, dass wir uns in einer großen Stadt nicht wohlfühlen und Phnom Penh war noch mal einen Zacken anders. Die Stadt ist voll von Müll, Dreck und Armut, das sage ich nicht, weil ich es verachte, sondern, weil man es sich nicht vorstellen kann, wenn man es nicht gesehen hat. Natürlich, weiß man, dass es arme Länder und arme Kinder auf dieser Welt gibt. Und auch in Südafrika und Thailand haben wir viel Armut gesehen, doch hier sehen wir der Armut direkt in die Augen. Und man kommt sich scheinheilig vor, wenn man in sein nettes Hotel mit netter Dachterrasse zurückkehrt, aber ich weiß auch nicht, wie ich es anders beschreiben und erzählen soll. Es ist verrückt und traurig, aber leider wahr.
Nebenbei gesagt: Kambodscha ist ziemlich teuer für Asien. Gezahlt wird in Doller UND Riel, also muss man immer zwei mal umrechnen.

Kambodża, do sąsiedniego kraju…. Teraz możemy zrobić mały krok dalej. Hmm... jak to będzie?
Zarezerwowaliśmy tylko dwie noce w stolicy Phnom Penh i to była dobra rzecz. Raz po raz zauważamy, że nie czujemy się dobrze w dużym mieście, a Phnom Penh było trochę inne. Miasto jest pełne śmieci, brudu i biedy, nie mówię tego dlatego, że nim gardzę, ale dlatego, że nie możesz sobie tego wyobrazić, jeśli go nie widziałeś. Oczywiście wiemy, że na tym świecie są biedne kraje i biedne dzieci. A także w RPA i Tajlandii widzieliśmy dużo ubóstwa, ale tutaj patrzymy ubóstwu prosto w oczy. I czujesz hipokryzję, kiedy wracasz do swojego ładnego hotelu z ładnym tarasem na dachu, ale nie wiem, jak inaczej to opisać i opowiedzieć. To szalone i smutne, ale niestety prawdziwe.
Przy okazji: Kambodża jest dość droga jak na Azję. Płatność dokonywana jest w dolarach ORAZ riel, więc zawsze musisz przeliczać dwa razy.

Cambodia, off to the neighboring country…. It is now possible for us to travel a small step further. Hmm...how will it be?
We had only booked two nights in the capital Phnom Penh and that was a good thing. Again and again we notice that we don't feel comfortable in a big city and Phnom Penh was a bit different. The city is full of rubbish, dirt and poverty, I don't say that because I despise it, but because you can't imagine it if you haven't seen it. Of course, we know that there are poor countries and poor children in this world. And we saw a lot of poverty in South Africa and Thailand too, but here we look poverty straight in the eye. And you feel hypocritical when you return to your nice hotel with a nice roof terrace, but I don't know how else to describe and tell it. It's crazy and sad, but unfortunately true.
By the way: Cambodia is pretty expensive for Asia. Payment is made in dollars AND riel, so you always have to convert twice.Read more
