Taquile Island, Lake Titicaca

A UNESCO world Heritage site, the island maintains ancient traditions. The views over the lake are spectacular, the ones here are towards Bolivia. The folks in the picture in traditional dress are among those who served lunch, sang, danced, demonstrated weaving and making of natural shampoo, among other native traditions. The 4th pic is the main square of the town looking out to the lake. We climbed up several hundred feet from the lake shore (over 12,500 feet) to the village.Baca lagi
