Milan to Venice

We had the best night sleep. Milo hostel is cheap and cheerful clean with amazingly comfy beds. It's got everything you need apart from breakfast, so I popped to the local Lidl this morning to buy breakfast and took fresh baked bread and fruit back to eat at the hostel.

Seeing the neighbourhood in the daylight was totally different from the night and a small vintage tram trundled past. I thought this must the most bizarrely wonderful Monday morning ever.

I got stuck at the cheese section and couldn't decide which mozzarella to buy.

You have to chuck your stuff in a bag quickly like in the UK.

Orange juice tastes amazing after a day of travelling!

The short train journey of all 2.5hrs takes us from Milan Centrale to Venice St. Lucia right in the heart of Venice over the causeway so it feels like your a part in the animated film Spirited Away.
Milan Centrale is like a museum: its marble arches and sculpted reliefs are something to be gasped at in wonder it takes 10 minutes to get through to find a train. What other train station in the world has designer shops-only Milan!

The journey was the most comfortable and quick after our epic route yesterday. And we queued for 3 tickets to take us to Rialto Bridge on the Vapereto water bus.
We had instructions to find the square and then open a key box and we let ourselves into out apartment where we will stay for 4 days. Getting lost, eating pizza ind drinking Limoncelo only way to live in Venice.もっと詳しく
