This is where Aerobus dropped us off from the airport
Aerobus is a very nice way to travel from El Pratt Airport into Barcelona. Makes only 3 stops and end-to-end takes about 30-35 minutes.

Needless to say we were also very happy to finally do away with masks (had them on for probably close to 12 hours :(Read more

Was pegged as a 4-star hotel and within reasons I would agree.
Nice residential area, very quiet and as proved througout the stay - quite convenient 2 metro lines and couple of bus stops very close, and walking is not a big deal either:

Traveler Convent was built to house a community of Dominican Tertiary Sisters, which had settled in the land adjoining the Verge dels Àngels chapel in 1497. The actual temple was built between 1562 and 1566

Traveler Because of a long gentle ramp from the museum down towards the plaza it became one of the world’s skateboarding destinations since the late 90’s.

Casa Milà (La Pedrera)

One of many Barcelona buildings designed by Antoni Gaudi. The building was commissioned in 1906 by Pere Milà & his wife.
In 1984, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO

We had tickets for the evening tour of the building and a special light show on the rooftop.
Unfortunately a really nasty thunderstorm rolled through about 10 minutes before the tour; the rooftop therefore is unsafe and the thing was cancelled 😭

Vivary is a chain. This one happened to be 2 blocks from our hotel and we are very happy that we found it.

The Basílica de la Sagrada Família (Basilica of the Holy Family) also known as the Sagrada Família, is a large unfinished Roman Catholic basilica. Designed by Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926), his work on the building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On November 7th, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the church and proclaimed it a minor basilica.
It completely blew us away when we first visited it in November 2019.
No matter how many photos, videos, etc. one can take - it simply does not do the place justice! As I have been telling folks the 1st thing that flashed through my mind upon entering it was "Thine be the Glory"Read more

Travelerthe cathedral has been"under construction" since day 1 - 19 March 1882; 139 years ago 😳 They estimate the completion date now somewhere around 2030

The only surviving gateway in the mediaeval wall from the 14th-century city.This gate that led into Barcelona is also the most privileged entryway to the current Baluard de les Drassanes or Baluard de Santa Madrona, a bastion which was added in the 18th century.

This Neoclassical building in the Square of the Gate of Peace at Port Vell opened in 1902. Architects Enric Sagnier and Pere García did a masterful job of decorating the former custom house with Ionic columns, dentil molding and ornate windows. Above the reliefs of royal crowns and the crenels are sculptures of winged lions. The stone façade has a warm glow in the Barcelona sunshine. This building is called Aduana by some and the Duana Nova (New Customs House) by others.Read more

A Square in the Barri Gòtic next to Las Ramblas.
The original building on the site was the Capuchin convent of Santa Madrona, which was demolished in 1835. Plaça Reial was then designed by Francesc Daniel Molina i Casamajó later in the XIX9th century.

Sant Miquel Beach is situated between the beaches Sant Sebastià and Barceloneta. It was transformed into a beach in 1755 and is one of the oldest of the city.

Most of the day was spent here just soaking up the sun and enjoying the scenery.

Traveler The fish statue was built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. It was designed by a Canadian architect Frank Gehry who was born in Toronto in 1932 and currently lives in Los Angeles. His best known works include the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao (Spain) and The Experience Music Project in Seattle (USA)
