Buellton

Our last camp en route to Ojai. This place is enormous, with several different sections including a motel, tiny houses, mobile homes, tents, and antique trailers. Has a couple of pools, a big party venue, bocce courts, a kids water park, a cafe. We treated ourselves to dinner out at Industrial Eats (still great smoked beef tongue pastrami), Los Olivos Wine Merchant (not as great as we remember), and Ellie’s Tap and Vine (Peggy got a fun extra in her salad, I had the “tomahawk” spare ribs. Good wine from Sanford. We also got a text message that Emory Caroline Dacanay was born at 6:10 pm (Oct. 6). My buddy from Scouting and many backpacks, Scott Wolfe, who is city manager of Buellton, dropped by for a visit.Read more
