  • Tarzan Treehouse Living

    April 28, 2016 in Cambodia ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Back to basics for Janeys birthday. As Arias and I arrived at Sea Garden on Otres beach 1, we rejoined the extended gang and hopped on a boat to Koh Ta Kiev for a night or two to celebrate Jane's birthday. There was only a few treehouses, hammocks and a bar, no electricity and only candles for light when it became dark. Perfection. We drank and I learnt poy skills.Read more

  • Welcoming the rain games!

    May 19, 2016 in Cambodia ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

  • Cambodian Space Project

    May 21, 2016 in Cambodia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Some of the strangest but some of the best dancing I've done in a long while! After hearing fellow volunteer Ruben speak of how this band was the whole reason he wanted to even come to Cambodia in the first place, we rallied the troupes and made a brilliant night of it on the beach front. Earlier on in the day we had all even watched the BBCs documentary on the band in preparation.Read more

  • Via Del Campo Childrens House

    June 10, 2016 in Cambodia ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

I had the privilege of volunteering at the local NGO Via Del Campo Children's House last Friday. We took some games and balloons and made the special souls some blow up crowns like they so deserve! The center in Phoum Thmey helps children abused for child prostitution, pornography and sex trafficking. Via del Campo provides them with two meals per day, non-formal education (and English language), medical care as well as sponsoring for them tuitions of traditional Khmer dancing (Apsara). Compassion, love, and kindness are taught as core values and it is truly one of the most inspiring places I've ever been. Very excited for the future partnership with Vagabond temple to blossom!Read more

And what better place to celebrate than Vagabond Temple!? For this special day we had the pleasure of Professor Rao, a Sanskrit philosophy expert visit Vagabond Temple to discuss what Yoga really stands for. He gave us true insight into topics such us the illusion of control, positive thinking, suffering and so much more to process, question and deepen our practice. He's an incredibly knowledgeable man and I can't wait to see what else he brings up.Read more

  • Heli Bar

    July 6, 2016 in Malaysia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

With new found friends we headed off to watch the sun go down... from a helicopter pad. Obviously located on the top floor, the pad turns into a chilled bar with plastic chairs after six pm. It was a pretty cool way to see the cityscape.Read more

  • Georgetown Street Art

    July 17, 2016 in Malaysia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

The town is a canvas for the people. Just a ferry ride from the mainland, found on the northern coast of Penang Island, Malaysia, boasts possibly one of the funkiest towns I've ever been to. Bursting with interesting architecture, old colonial buildings, rare book shops, quirky cafés and incredible food (Penang is known for its delicious and varied cuisines). It's hardly surprising the town is classed as a UNESCO world heritage site with all of this, plus lots of interesting street art done over shop fronts, side streets, doorways...and practically any wall someone has been able to get their paint on. I have been well and truly, utterly charmed by this place. I feel very at home in this nook of the world.Read more

  • Pulau Perhentian Kecil

    July 22, 2016 in Malaysia ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Five nights of pure island life, and three of those shared with Josh.
'Perhentian' literally meaning 'Stop' means nothing but good books, snorkelling with the colourful fishies in the bluest sea I've ever seen, napping, eating fresh coconuts and relaxing on the whitest sand I've ever had the privilege of walking on. Mother nature never, ever fails to astound me with her marvellous ways.Read more
