• Code 0 back up🎉⛵🌬️

    18. oktober 2023, North Atlantic Ocean ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Now we have to fix the broken screw on the block and lift the code 0 from the crammed and secured position on the guard rails. Marc did a great job with bending, the chasis back, adding a new bold on the block. After 1h 30min we are ready to go to lower the gennaker and get the Code 0 up.

I found also the spare sheet in the bow cabin. We are good to go. The sun is already hot and we have to take brakes.
After another 30 preparation including taking the gennaker down, attaching sheet and uncurl the code 0 as good as I gets.

We open the sail ties and I pull the sail forward. Peter goes a little more downwind and reduces the speed. Marc hoists the haleyard. I try to hold it forward and the rest won as lang as o can. Goes pretty good 2/3 up and I can still hold it under control. Luckily almost no apparent wind. At 3/4 up I can't hold it and let it go. It flies up slow but it doesn't open. Fuck we have the sheet wrapped around. During Marc hoisting it up fully I run back and get the sheets to bring them forward to unwrap them around the sail. After 2-3 minutes we have the first sheet sorted and we can trim it in. Yes! The sail is flying nicely and no visible damages from the incident 2 nights ago.

We are back in the game!
